My teaching history |
I did my practice teaching in Bloomington and Nashville, IN and my student teaching at Washington H.S. in Indianapolis. In 1982 I received my B.S. in Science Education from I.U. Bloomington. From 1982-1998 I taught Physical Science and Earth Science to 6th and 8th grades respectively. In the early 1990's I also taught Computer Literacy. In addition I was team leader, science department head and sponsored many clubs at three different Houston, Texas schools. During my time in Texas I obtained a Masters of Science in Science Education from the University of Houston. In 1998 I moved to New Albany, IN, to return home with my family as I was born and raised in Louisville, KY.
In 1999 I started working part-time at the Alternative Learning Center of the NAFC schools teaching adults and pregnant girls Science and other subjects. During that time I took 36 graduate hours and obtained my English as a Second Language certification. After 10 years the district transferred me to the job I'd dreamed of all my life, teaching Earth Space Science to high school students here at NAHS. |
